After my 3 years in this space, I moved to another country and when I realized how hard it was to transfer my money from one country to another by traditional banking, I was totally baffled. "Why!?!?!"

Because everyone needs to make money when you move your money.

I was used to Steem to SBD and I thought things moved around a lot easier. I could easily send $100 to a friend in Venezuela. I thought that must be harder by a bank but not THAT much harder. I think it's actually impossible lol

yeah I understand that, it just seemed really silly considering how interconnected the economies have become

I had a similar issue when doing some freelance work outside of US. The fees for transferring my pay to me was almost 45% instead they set me an in house account and eventually crypto entered their eyes of course that is how I entered crypto.
