I don't hear this comparison being made often...
Hive from it's early days under a different name, well through the fork has had much more in common with a monetized Livejournal or Xanga in the early 2000's than any social media, or even reddit.
Of course we are much more than that, but from a bloggers perspective (more than half the chain before Splinterlands took off), that's exactly what Hive is like.
The detriment of some are the energy of others. Yes not being correctly valued hurts... but it also creates both a baseline and an healthy(ier) ecosystem foundation for whom might come.
All and all, the ecosystem is just telling us... "it not yet the right time, keep building"...
Once idiots are allowed and they face with learning 10 years of knowledge learned the right way, their "wow!" will do its work... they will see dolphins like we see whales right now... and that's not because of the HP, but instead, wisdom!
I don’t really think hive has ever been over or under valued for long periods of time. We have the price we deserve. If we could ever figure out onboarding we will go up as we should. Less fluff and less noise here.
I think with shorts and cross chain payments and easier sign up, and especially with collaborations Leo is doing, we will bring those people from now. Collaborations and our users having social lives is important
This platform, I respect for one thing,. it's seen both the best and the worst and it's standing strong, that's the mark of a promising future
I thought splinterlands existed during steemit era before the fork
it did! But it took off right before the fork I believe? Or right after it
