SPUD XI

A very good month! I reached my 30,000SP target on 13 February 2020, 20 days earlier than expected. It's interesting what a difference having targets makes, although I felt strangely deflated having reached one!

Total SP holdings are 30,330 between the @shanibeer and the @moneyforjam savings accounts. I've decided to set a new target and aim for 50,000SP by 31 March 2021. Mini-target to reach 32,000 by 1 March 2020.

I still feel good about Steem. I like the way the community is working towards developing a relationship with Justin Sun and Tron. I knew that it would.

JPUD and JAHM Curation

I've powered up 4,600JAHM to bring my holdings to 148,450JP this month. My long-term target is to reach 200,000JP by 31 March 2021. I've set a modest target to reach 150,000JP by 1 April 2020.

The target is modest because I'm adapting my curation approach and, at the moment, there are few posts that match my criteria, so curation earnings may be limited. However, posts that do meet my criteria are likely to receive 100% votes from the @shani.jahming account and as near 100% votes as my VP will allow from the @shanibeer account.

I'm looking for:

  • original artist posts, especially rehearsing, performing, studio work or writing about what you do. Here's two examples of posts that are likely to get a high vote from me: Long time no DJ and DJ Luca1777 - Dancehall Mixtape 2020 Vlog.

  • I'm really interested in Jamaican influenced jazz, jazz and other fusions, interesting reviews of live performances, interviews with musicians, in fact, pretty much anything related except Dancehall (and K-Pop, obviously). Other than these, I will not be voting for music posts.

  • My personal interests are travel, art and literature, and economics and business (including tourism, music etc). I love hearing about everyday life and I'm looking for real experiences - places you've been, people you've seen and spoken to and, especially, food you've cooked :) Here's a couple of good examples: Likkle and Tallawah with Missa J and Saltfish Fritters. I will not be voting for Internet researched posts, no matter how well-written.

I will be looking for quality, but more than that, I'm looking for posts that add value to Reggaesteem. This might be an Appics photograph and a few words, if it brings value to Reggaesteem and to me, I will be voting for it.

I'm also looking for engagement: comments that engage with what the post is about are also likely to get a vote, especially when they are on my posts :)~

There's lots of exciting things happening on Reggaesteem, including JahmFest - 26th-28th June, Negril. I won't be able to make this one due to work commitments. However, I am planning a trip later in the year ...

Steem Power Investments (SPInvest, @spinvest)

Mr Spinvest took a week off and has come back on overload with plans for the future. The most recent and fun thing is a daily lotto with a free forever daily ticket for everyone that wants to enterFull details in this post.. Actually, there is a cost to enter: you will need to upvote the @spi-contests account each day.

My SPI holdings continue to grow. I've set a new target to get to 10,000SPI (currently 8,034SPI). The two main ways I'm growing my holdings are through setting @spi-payments as a beneficiary on posts (you receive an equivalent amount of SPI tokens); and curation earnings (paid in SPI tokens) through delegating LEO to @spinvest-leo and NEOXIAN to @spinvest-neo.

NeedleworkMonday Challenge

We're seeing lots of niche Communities setting up, which is great. One of my long time favourites is @needleworkmonday, where I've been posting on and off more or less since I joined Steem.

The Community has a new home on Steem (hive-127911) and you are welcome to subscribe.Needlework Monday was founded by @crosheille who has done a fabulous job of building the community over the past three and a half years.

The Community is for everyone interested in sewing, knitting, crochet, beading and anything else that uses a needle. If you post on a Monday - the main posting day - use #needleworkmonday; and on any other day, use #needlework.

NeedleworkMonday is running a challenge throughout March for people who post in the new Community, with prizes every week. There will be a post on Monday 2 March 2020 with the details.

Great achievements across many different currencies and tokens. A testament to good goal setting and motivation. I also really like the clear parameters you have on where your curation will take place ; really good to see and would like to see others do similar. Happy SPUD DAY!

Thank you - and to you. SPUD is a great idea and gets people involved, for me, it's a reminder and a chance to reflect on what I'm doing. It's quite a challenge managing the different tokens, but I've focused on a couple that interest me and have a good business proposal behind them.

awesome goals you set for yourself and targeting them means your integrity and staying truthful to yourself runs and remains high. I like the content you'll be on the look for... this is the type of content that will help propel the platform forward into the future

Always food to hear from you on the feed, Shani

Thank you. I'm looking forward to watching it grow 😊

Congrats and good luck with reaching your milestones

I will not be voting for Internet researched posts, no matter how well-written.

Thank You, I don't know why we continue to support these. If it wasn't your experience or isn't well-written fiction, please just stick to reviewing music.

Thank you, I haven't had as much time as I would like to give to Reggaesteem, but I'm pleased to be making steady progress.

The internet researched posts wouldn't be so bad if they included some personal perspective or commentary that was additional to anything anyone with an internet browser can find. My main problem is that I find them boring, which is a shame given the time and effort that has gone into them. But the feed keeps developing and the community is very responsive to suggestions, so I'm sure it will keep improving.

☺️😘🤗

Yoo hoo :)

Love how you are on and above target even with your busy schedule. Nice ReggaeSteem personal curation guide, I myself would love to see more of these types of content.

I've been practising my sound editing, I may even be ready to publish something to reggaesteem. I've asked Patrick to get me some proper headphones - have you got any recommendations for brand/models?I'd love to see more from @marcybetancourt and @nandy4eva. It'll grow over time :)

Nice progress!

Thank you - I think I was originally inspired by some of your self-tracking posts, I'm always fascinated by them! Thanks for the help with a wallet, I had no idea where to start.

What wallets did you go for in the end?

Coinomi - it was the first I looked at and easy to use so I stopped there. My stepson and I had a long chat about stacking our bitcoin and precious metals, he's off to Canada for two years and we were talking about meeting up to compare wallets (not that we need to do, it's just an excuse).
