Cub comes in many forms
Maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but I've in a bunch of different Kingdoms and Farms and whatnots on CubDefi. This is what I'm currently in:
- Cub Kingdom
- Cake Kingdom
- ETH-BNB Kingdom
- DOT-BNB Kingdom
- BLEO-BNB Farm
What's the plan?
- CUB made in the Cub Kingdom = autocompounded and staked.
- CUB made in other Kingdoms = saved in the Den
The Cub Den will be the savings account for Splinterlands: Chaos Legion
You can quote me on this: those Chaos Legion cards are going to be awesome.
Am I crazy?
I might be! I'm making a gamble here. If the price of Cub does not increase significantly by the time more information comes out about Chaos Legion, this whole thing may backfire. If it does, though, I'll still have the Cub. I just might have to hang onto it and find another funding source for the new cards.
I want to get 2000 packs or so
So it's a lofty goal. Clearly, the Cub alone may not cover the cost of that many packs. I'll just have to see what's announced. Last time, there was a Kickstarter and you could get perks for being an early supporter. I'm hoping there's something like that again this time and that's what I'm trying to prepare for.
Splinterlands is a big part of my investment plan
That's why I don't think it's too crazy to save up Cub for buying the new card series. The Untamed series turned out to be great, in my opinion. Most of my cards are either from the Untamed or Dice series now. Do I miss all of my max-level Beta cards? Hell yeah I do. I wish I had those and the new Untamed and Dice cards I have, but I don't. Sometimes, shit just is what it is. I'm working on buying up the affordable Beta cards here and there, but I won't be able to get all of them and I'm okay with that.

I'll be in the Kickstarter, if they have one, just like I've been in every one of the past ones. Am I addicted or just enjoying a guilty pleasure??? If my crypto holding are doing well when Chaos Legion is released, I may join you in the multi thousand purchase plan.
The values of cards just seems to go up and up. For now, anyway. I can see that lasting years, so the cards are part of my crypto holdings. It's all a balancing act. I just think it would be nice to get to max out some of the new cards immediately and start using them. With Untamed, it took me a while until they were useful alongside my max level Beta cards.

I'm still confused about what's happening with the DEC-BUSD. Khal says all farm will be migrated to Kingdoms. Others say the the DEC one can't be migrated because there needs to a another token to add. I think Khal has forgotten about it and it's not on his radar any more. I was planning on adding some more DEC in there but with the uncertainty about what's going to happen to it I've held off. Until that's settled I don't have a plan yet of how I will save for Chaos Legion or it I'll buy any packs. My Untamed cards are very lacking and I'm not sure Chaos will be much good without solid support from Untamed.

Yeah, I'm not in the DEC-BUSD farm anymore. I was for a while, but then I decided I'd rather spend the DEC in the game than farm it on BSC.
I understand that perspective. As I mentioned in the post, I heavily focused my current collection on Untamed and Dice. Previously, I built up a powerful Beta collection, but I foolishly sold it all in early 2020.
For me, I'm hoping the next series will give me a leg up that I might be missing considering my Beta and Alpha cards are very lacking. Many of those earlier cards are simply too expensive to think about getting at max level at this point.
I've rented a few of those cards here and there, but the way the HBD price fluctuates so much, it's hard to figure out if that's worth it or not. Right now, it's not worth it to me.

Sounds like we're in opposite positions. Prices are too high now for me to buy more cards and I want to keep my DEC to increase my SPS rewards.
There are so many moving parts at the moment. Lots of unknowns so it's hard to know what to do for the best.

ENGAGEtokens.I actually did exactly this but a lot earlier. I pulled out $6k and put at least $4k into splinterlands. I thought I was mental at the time, but I was sure that it sat as a nice wealth storage. Turned out I was right. My $4k turned into $6, then $10, now it's at $13k -- just to be clear I did add a little further of my own money in here and there. But it's at least 100%'d in the last 2 months.
Yeah, the value of the cards seems to just keep going up. Obviously, this won't go on until the end of time, but I'm pretty confident it'll last years.
I'm finding I really need to get some Beta cards in my collection again. It's hard to make it at higher levels with mainly Untamed and Dice cards, like I have. It's hard to do everything I want to do when it comes to investing in the game.
