Introduction
Leofinance has started a new marketing campaign to onboard new users to hive. Their goal for this month of September is to get 450 new users and for them to stay long-term. This competition will be through a Zealy with a 5000 HBD Prize pool. The rewards will be shared among all who participate in this campaign. If you haven't joined already, you can join through my link below. I will be sharing my thoughts of this campaign in this post.
I'd also like to invite @ak08, @captainwhoco, @mypathtofire, @certain, @izouky, @shadecroat, @treytrillionaire, @s0nikkukun and all of my followers plus anybody else on Hive to participate in this campaign as there is nothing to lose and this will benefit the whole Hive ecosystem.
My Thoughts On This Campaign
Honestly, I think this is a great campaign. 450 New users for long-term seems feasible but I'm hoping to see Hive with millions of daily users. We need to aim higher. We have like 7.8 billion people in this world so only getting 450 users seems too small.
A share of 5000 HBD is not small money for some people. I just hope that having this reward doesn't cause short-term benefits. We've seen it before in the last Leo campaign for introducing threads that the activity died down a lot after the campaign was over. Hopefully, this time Leofinance can mitigate this type of after effect of the campaign finishing.
I think it's great that we can have rewards for trying to get more people here. This is what I've already been doing so to be able to get rewarded on top of it, is a nice cherry on the cake since before I didn't personally gain anything by trying to onboard new users. I've already been trying to convert Splinterlands Balthazar scholars to write and participate on the blogging/threading aspect as well. I even conducted an online meeting explaining how to start blogging on Hive and sharing some tips which you can see in the screenshot below. I also tried to convince some real life friends to try. In the end, from my experience it's not so easy to get them on here. There's a lot to explain and then it's on them to have the heart to write and blog but I have seen some success with @zactian @jadedaniel. I hope they can continue to write and hopefully participate in this campaign.
Concluding Thoughts
I believe people in the world want to have more control over their content as well as having more privacy. Centralized social media like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Tiktok etc could ban you etc and if that was to happen, you would lose all your content. These social media giants are also using our search history and information and it's probably being sold to earn even more money. I have a strong feeling that having content on blockchain which is what Hive is doing now will be the future. It will just take some time to understand and educate the technology behind it.

450 is not huge but I am facing difficulties to bring only one. Maybe I am not so social and it can be a reason behind it.
