I Finally reached Diamond League in Splinterlands

My Splinterlands Journey

  • This season is one of my best so far in my Splinterlands experience, with new rulesets and rewards, and I have amassed together a fairly strong melee and magic deck in two splinters.
  • The result of strong cards, my experience, and a bit of bot luck have combined to propel me further in the rankings then I ever thought possible.
  • For those unfamiliar with Splinterlands, a player starts out in

NOVICE, then

BRONZE 3, then

BRONZE 2, then

BRONZE 1, then

SILVER 3, then

SILVER 2, then

SILVER 1, then

GOLD 3, then

GOLD 2, then

GOLD 1, then

DIAMOND 3, then

DIAMOND 2, then

DIAMOND 1, then

CHAMPION 3,

CHAMPION 2,

CHAMPION 1

  • So I am usually a casual player, who usually achieves Bronze 1 or Silver III league, and every season you drop back two leagues, so it isn't easy to maintain your progress if you don't play every season.

  • You could be Gold 1 and miss 3-4 seasons and find yourself in Novice league when you come back. LOL

  • So you can hopefully imagine how happy I am to have worked my way all the way from Novice to Diamond 2 in one season!

  • At this point I haven't let success go to my head, because I still lose a fair number of matches against fairly skilled players , especially now thta I am playing in the Diamond League.

  • Splinterlands is a game of both experience, strategy and perseverance.

  • I think like all video games there is an element of what gamers call "grinding" which is just playing the game to accumulate points to move up the ladder.

  • That is more true here then other situations, as you are winning 0.01 SPS or 1/100th of a token worth 4 cents per battle in Bronze League, it is not an exiting prize.

  • But now I win 1.5-1.75 SPS per game in Diamond, and partially because I have so much SPS staked I believe get bonuses.

  • I say that because my oponents seem to earn much less by beating me.

  • Plus I have been earning a few hundred Glint per match lately, so this run has earned my over 12,000 Glint. It has no assigned monetary value, but you use it buy chests containing Monster Cards and some other stuff I don't know what to do with yet, as they are used for land, and I haven't started developing my land yet.

  • So today I am basking in the glow of my achievement, and two friends of mine who stopped playing during the bear market are suddenly interested in playing again.

  • Truth be told they are both better players then me, and possibly have better decks. But my dad always siad, make for what you lack in talent with hard work, and I am a work horse.

  • I admit it, not to brag, but to state that I have come into the world with average skills and intelligence, but my dad made me work for everything, so that's indeed what I do... And I can't complain, the work ethic he instilled has survived him and made me who I am today.

Thanks Dad.

Thank you for your support

It gets harder to rank up after diamond.

Congrats on that ✌️

Do you play at diamond or above?

Diamond for now, sometimes I see the challenger but it is hard to survive at that level.

I can understand, I am at Diamond 1 and it has been hard to accumulate points towards Champion because the competition is very good, and the games are more small mana cards and no legendary cards, which requires a more diverse deck and the ability to create a team in less then 2 minutes. I am losing equally by unintentional surrenders trying to create teams with new limitations on what I can use, and the people I am playing seem to have better small mana teams. Do you see a lot of small mana team restrictions?

Thank you.
I am at Diamond 1 now, and it is very hard!

Do you play?
What do you think of the recent changes in rewards?

I am unfammiliar with Guardian cards. What are they and how do you earn them?
