Taskmaster wrote a post entittled "What does Inleo look like with 100,000 users?
- This is more then 10 times Inleo's current size.
- His article raises some good points, but it got me thinking of something else altogether...
- Facebook has over 800 million users in the West alone.
- We Chat has over 1 billion users
- X has over 600 million users
- Bluesky ... the newest social media web 2 product has 25 million users in less then a year, so it is possible
- So why not Hive??
- Why not Web 3 ?
- Do we need to change our name?
Maybe Red X ???
Hive with 25 million users ...
- This would be more then 25 times as many people, or by some estimates more then 50 times as many people as now.
- They would all need 4 Hive or loaned resource credits
- What would it take to build a Big Web 3 Social Media Platform?
My thoughts...
- In order to build a web 3 social media platform with 25 million users,
someone would have to build a platform, which caters to the needs and wants of web 2 influencers, so they would move their audience here.
Because...Build a web 3 platform...**
- All the big crypto influencers are on web 2 platforms...
- Because that's where the audience is ??
- But this sounds like circular reasoning; The influencers are on web 2, because the audience is on web 2, but the audience is on web 2, because the influencers are on web 2 , so they are both there because of each other, so the influencers should move to web 3 and incentivize their network to move with them, withbmoney and an explanation of freedom.
Now could this happen?
- Ask Bluesky
- 25 million people left somewhere and went to Bluesky
- That is to small a number to hurt Facebook, X, or YouTube..but it would really help Hive!
- Just imagine if 25 million people moved to Hive
- This would change entirely the economics of Hive, by raising the price through simple supply and demand for 4 Hive, and the resource credits which go with it.
What if we used money from the DHF to help the influencers make this happen by providing delegations to influencers.
- This would be interesting because it would mean taking money from DHF and stacking it, instead of selling it, and it would actually increase buy pressure on hive and take hive out of circulation by powering it up and staking it.
had a big pile of money we could use to promote Hive? - We just need to find an influencer who wants to make history by being the first crypto influencer to create a way to reward their followers with a stream of income. They would also make history by not just earning money off their followers but helping their followers earn money!
What do you think?
- It's time for a Leopol

Worth noting that the last social blogging platform I was part of — Xanga, up to about 2006-07 — hosted 30+ million users in a format not unlike Hive.
It was literally social blogging; a marriage of writing and engagement, much like Hive. Back then the number of Internet users was barely one billion...
=^..^=
Wow, what happened to Xanga?
Did it exist at the same time as Steemit? Or did it preceed Steemit?
Research on Xanga
Xanga is a social networking site that allows users to create profiles, blog, and share photos, videos, and audio:
Profiles: Users can create profiles with friends, "nudges", and chat forums.
Blogs: Users can create blogs that can include weblogs, photos, videos, and audio.
Following: Users can subscribe to someone's blog to follow their updates.
Friending: Users can friend other users to create a closer relationship. Friendships control privacy features and are two-way relationships.
FTC fines Xanga for violating kids' privacy
Xanga was created in 1999 by John Miller, Marc Ginsburg, and Dan Huddle. It started as a site for sharing book and music reviews, but became a popular blogging site for teenagers in the 2000s. At its peak, Xanga had 30 million users.
Xanga faced challenges due to a constantly changing interface and the rise of newer social media and blogging platforms. However, Xanga is still around and is working on a Xanga 2.0. Xanga has a Facebook page where they communicate updates and build community teams.
