The biggest problem with Hive-engine as an effective Layer 2 for Hive is liquidity and depth in the order books.

It only takes a small amount of money to control any Layer 2 token.

Yes, this is a HUGE issue and why I am simply not investing in any of these tokens anymore other than of course the ones I created. I sell everything else, yes, including LEO, into HBD. There are other issues too like lack of development.

yep lack of development is a big one.
I don’t sell Leo currently as I need to get more staked for rewards for our community members on InLeo

Yeah, I get that. I've been just moving all liquidity to my collateral and trading accounts as much as possible trying to build that business back up because that is my core income.

makes sense

thats the truth.

i guess it comes down to, how do we drive more activity on chain which would (you would hope) have a trickle down effect on the markets....more people, more trading?

or maybe not, who knows lol

the first step would be for people to stop minting new layer 2 tokens when we have enough already.
weeding out a bunch.
community pressure to stop supporting "bad apples" (projects)

rally around 1 or 2 layer 2 tokens.

more users always helps but without cleaning up the community.
they will not help.

That is how i would start.
Which is why darkcloaks.io only uses HBD plus LEO as a community token.

i have always maintained, the cream will always rise.

it's part of free markets and i dont know if we want to take away that feeling of 'if you wanna build something, you should'. entrepreneurial spirit is a great thing.

but like you said, most are dead projects with not a lot going for it. which is a curse for sure.
