there can't be enough staked hive :)
I disagree.
Once you have enough Hive (RC's) to do the interactions you want.
No reason to buy/stake anymore Hive unless you want to get involved with governance.
The user base is shrinking (at an all time low) and the current front-ends are a failed experiment.
Buying Hive has too high of an opportunity cost as this point.
