it would be a tech fork not a community fork.
it is a conversation a lot of large video game companies are having about a lot of things.
Hive will either realize they need to change or they will be run over, is my gut feeling.

you fork the tech stack,
put in place 20 companies as top witnesses but you can also change the number and the rewards at this time.
eliminate all user accounts and start a fresh chain (fork)that interacts with the business applications of the founding companies.
All the benefits and new offering for (in this case) players of the top 20 companies and none of the baggage.
It is not hard to do with the resources of large companies.
Big money / big tech / big gaming is not going to deal with a hand full of arrogant (I was here 1st) accounts.
