Hello dear reader, if you are new to HIVE and its vibrant ecosystem you might find this post helpful. If you are already on hive for a while you still could learn something. I will show you how engaging with other authors and your own readers can make a big difference when it comes to grow your reach on the various frontends of our network.

People like interaction
Some do not, but most of the people love it when they get into a conversation with someone else. Communication is the factor that made us humans who we are today. We learn we provide knowledge we give happiness with our human interactions. Imagine where we would be if knowledge would not have been passed on over the evolution of mankind. We would start from scratch each time a new generation grows up.
On social media platforms the most common form of interaction is a like or an upvote. Upvoting on hive helps the distribution and decentralization of the token. It is not only means of monetary value but the fact that HIVE gets spread widely accross the userbase.
A second level of interaction is to comment on someones post or thoughts. One could even say that this type of interaction is much more important then upvotes. Of course on Hive and its multiple frontends you will have monetary value connected to your upvote. But nobody will follow your account or engage with your content just because you upvoted it with a few cents. If you leave a meaningful comment or thaught on someones post or comment they might be motivated to reply to you, and guess what: INTERACTION = CONNECTION
Connecting with others is the key to grow your network. How did you get your last job? How did you get to know you partner how do you make friends? Yes, by communicating.
If you don't write the job application your future employer will not know about you, if you do nmot have the courage to talk with someone you like it will be pretty hard to get to a relationship. If you are not commenting on others posts they will simply not know that you even exist on this chain.
If all this does not convince you why you should interact with other users on hive maybe this screenshot of my pending payouts on PEAKD convinces you. After all a lot of people are here to make crypto by blogging.
You can see that a lot of my comments make a few cents and some make even more, but those are the exception of course. I simply went with the following tactics:
- I was opening all hive posts I found in my LISTNERDS inbox
- I went through them and read the ones that woke my interest
- I wrote one comment on each of them
This might be too time consuming for some but be assured you will start to see the effects of your efforts pretty fast.
You are not forced to comment on every single post published on the blockchain but the more you do the more rewards you will reap. I am not only talking about crypto rewards but the reward of making new connections maybe even friends. You will see those you engage with will be happy that you commented and maybe will be checking out your last post and follow your blog.

Interactions will always be the main key for success here. Ass kissing big upvoters never works, and if it works, it doesn't last. Interactions and pumping out good content. There's no way around it. Simple as that.

The only way to get noticed is quality posts and engagement.
I never really tried kissing big upvoters.
What works is when you quote those accounts posts and build their thoughts into your content and add your own aspects to them.

Interaction is essential to blogging, it's essential to learn from others and to better understand the topics we talk about. Sometimes in my posts I found comments that had rightly corrected some inaccurate things I had written. Interaction is everything. If there is no interaction, social networking is not very useful.

Yes, I'm fine now. Last year was a very difficult year. In addition, 2022 did not start very well ... it is only now that I am starting to be a bit calmer, but I can never be calm, this war is still creating difficulties ... the prices of fuel and food are increasing.
Yes I totally feel you. We are seeing some increased prices too already. It will bot get easier as the conflict goes on.

Thank you! I've reading about engaging a lot recently. To me it just comes naturally, replying and commenting. Only thing stopping me is the deplating RC, but gonna do a little power up so that's gonna change soon.
You can save up some RC if you only vote a few times a day. In the beginning your upvotes do not bring too much so instead of upvoting concentrate on posting and commenting. Unfortunately I only have my posting key on the mobile otherwise I would delegate you some HP. Maybe @forykw has some spare?

Thanks for the tip! In a couple of days I should be getting rewards for post and was thinking that I'd use them to increase my HP. I have 50/50 HP/HBD as default but I think at this point it would be more beneficial to focus on just HP, so i'll probably swap the HBD.
Comments are a good way to know people and it's a great way to get people to visit your own posts. It's something more people should do but they consider it way too much work. However, I think it's a key part of being part of blockchain social media.

Absolutely, I don’t even consider commenting as work. It is just a reaction on someones thoughts adding your own ideas.
Maybe reading is the hardest part and most people do not read posts at all…

It's a wonderful way to explore different topics and blogs. Normally if I choose to follow everything on blogs, I exposed to so much stuff that I may not want to see; too many things :) But this way it's better I guess.
