Thanks to bitcoin's unstoppable growth in 2020, there are more bitcoin millionaires and even billionaires than ever before. Let's take a look at the top 5 wealthiest bitcoin billionaires on the planet.

Michael Saylor

Born on February 4, 1965 (age 56 years) from Lincolin, Nebraska. In December 2020, his company Microstrategy announced a purchase of bitcoins in the value of 1.1 billion dollars. This amount later more than doubled its profit. Saylor personally participated in the investment with 175 million dollars, which now values 650 million dollars combined.

With the rest of his digital assets, his net worth is around 2.4 billion. Bitcoin investments of his company were very successful, but Michael Saylor decided not to proceed with BTC investments. As the holder of 70 percent of the corporation Saylor dismissed concerns about Microstrategy becoming a bitcoin investment company in 2018.

In 2018 his net worth was estimated somewhere over 17 billion dollars, but his circumstances quickly changed six years later. He co-founded Ripple a business that was supposed to make international payments easier thanks to blockchain technology and the token called XRP. Everything went well and in January 2018 XRP reached its top, which made Larsen the richest he's ever been.

Unfortunately, that didn't last long because in the same year, XRP crashed. Luckily for him, he didn't put all his money on XRP but worked with other cryptocurrencies as well. One of which is being Bitcoin. This earned him a place among the Bitcoin billionaires with his current net worth around 3.4 billion dollars.

What really made them famous was the social network, a biographical movie about the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg. The twins sued Mark Zuckerberg for stealing their idea for what would later become the first ever social network. Facebook decided to settle for 65 million dollars which had later become their starter for stockpiling bitcoin.

The Gemini cryptocurrency exchange co-founders were one of the first celebrities that bought Bitcoin and now they're owners of about 70 000 of them. Some say they own as much as one percent of all bitcoin. Together with other digital currencies, their net worth combined makes about 3 billion dollars each. That is 6 billion combined.

Sam Bankman Fried

At the age of 29 he is not just a successful entrepreneur, but also a billionaire with a net worth of about 8.7 billion dollars. Sam is the founder of quantitative trading firm, Alameda Research, the exchange FTX and Defi protocol Serum. Alameda Research is one of the biggest companies in crypto, with around 2.5 billion dollars in assets under their management and responsible for 10 of the market's cryptocurrency. Like most of the bitcoin buyers, Sam is trying to earn as much money as possible. He spends 24 hours in his office in Hong Kong, using a bean bag to sleep on to make sure he never misses a trade.

Brian Armstrong

Everyone that's interested Bitcoin, knows what and who Coinbase is. The most valuable exchange company in the United States processes about 3 billion dollars every single day. 20 percent of its shares are owned by the CEO and number one bitcoin billionaire in the world, Brian Armstrong.
When he first discovered bitcoin in 2010, Armstrong realized that there weren't many startups, so he decided to make his own giving by starting the company Coinbase.

Two years later he started two more companies, one of them being the Y Combinator Startup Incubator Program. This famous program aims to provide investments to small startups. It participated in the launch of companies like Dropbox, Airbnb, Reddit and Weebly. Combining all this together and you'll end up with his net worth that is now moving around 16 billion dollars.
