The very first gold coin I ever saw and held

in LeoFinance3 years ago (edited)

The year was 2009, I was working at a nice restaurant at the airport. One of the best jobs I ever had. I had to get up at 2:30am to be there to start my shift at 3:30am but 4am-9am is where I got the most tip. Those who worked in the afternoon had clients with business cards who never tipped.

Anyways we have “janitors” who worked for the entire restaurant network. They would go to each one to change garbages, pick up leftover plates, trays and cups, and generally clean everything up.

One day one of them came to us and was showing us a gold coin he had found. I asked him to see it and there it was, the first time I ever held a gold coin. It was a Canadian maple leaf, and I remember how it felt heavy and precious. I can’t imagine how someone would lose this coin, or how they felt when they realized it was missing. But from that day I realized I wanted to collect these coins. But unfortunately I couldn’t afford to but now I can.

Interesting story, Staker Stacker - @ssjsasha. But, I don't quite understand, was it a tip, left on a table? Did anyone or everyone realize its value?

It was definitely not a tip, the janitor found it. I forget if he mentioned where he found it, this was like 13 years ago lol. But yeah they knew the value, I even remember googling the value at the time and being like wow

I had some years on this job where I Known cryptocurrency field, but I saw eagle silver for the first time

Those golden coins always look pretty attractive and tempting

Quite a story. You seem to have a great time while working at a restaurant. I now where your desire to acquire this precious came from. Gold Marple are truly beautiful

nice story! :)

Working in a restaurant is never a bad job, I remember the time I did years ago. Is something for life experience.

Sometimes impressions leave their mark in life, seeing and touching a gold coin was the first step to success and getting to know other types

"Holy Moly!" I'd be happy as if I won a lottery.
If I did win a 649 Lottery, expect me to empty Silvergoldbull of their gold inventory within an hour after cashing the check.

Wow, what a story!
I am impressed!
After that first gold coin I held, (I had to buy it myself, hehehe), I always dream of adding one.
I can't afford to buy gold coins always and keep to my silver stacking.
Oh well... some 1 oz, and more fractional gold will do!!!

It is nice working in a restaurant because I also worked in a restaurant as well

That is awesome. First gold coin I ever bought was a tenth ounce Canadian Maple Leaf. It was in one of my posts earlier !
