RE: Why I paid $29.38 for the First Chaos Legion Pack on the Market

AND I have a 2% chance...

There is a 2% chance for getting a promo card for every CL packs pruchased, and there is a guaranteed promo card for every 50th CL packs purchased. But its for the ingame purchases only, isn't it? I don't see any point to purchase CL packs on the secondary market until they are sold out, or the price on secondary market is under the original price.
Sorry, but I rly do not understand your action about this purchase.

Sort:

I think the point is she wanted to have a little fun with this, and seized the opportunity to be first to buy on the secondary market.
Don't over estimate the chances of getting a promo with a single pack anyway. I've been involved in a lot of these airdrops and trust me you feel really lucky if you get more than a guaranteed amount anyway. Clearly she won't get enough vouchers for even the minimum 50 packs. But there are other ways to take advantage of this airdrop.

After her replies i understand her fun part of it :)

That's not a good info to hear, since i have no chance to get vouchers for 50 pack either, but still i will try my few percent chances also :)

Hi Szpb! Yes, that's correct isn't it! I will edit my post to remove the 2% chance. However, I still have reasons for the purchase. For the next days until I open the pack (so certainly the next 30 days but probably even more), I will receive free SPS airdrops for that, PLUS I will get MORE voucher points based upon my higher SPS, so I'm making money off that pack. Secondly, I really didn't overpay that much. There will be many who don't receive vouchers and you WILL need vouchers to buy packs, so therefore, the value of packs on the market should hold pretty well. If you look at other packs, even when they were still available, the market price was pretty strong. As I said in the post, I spent more than I would have liked, but I will get all that back from the SPS drops for sure as well as the voucher drops. That said, I don't think it was that much of a waste. I will also get a little money from this blog post for being able to say I was the first to by the pack. That will help pay for the pack I just purchased, AND I get to spread the excitement about these Chaos Packs. Finally, I GOT CARDS! I will make some money off the cards inside the pack! So, I feel like it was a decent purchase. I may not MAKE money off the purchase, but I don't see it as losing money. Thank you so much though for reading and commenting! I hope my explanation helped you to see my logic, even if perhaps you find it to be a bit flawed logic. You have a great day!! :)

I get the part you wanted to be part of the fun so you bought the first Chaos Legion pack on the secondary market, Bragging rights go!

However, I don't see how you'll get SPS from the pack. If I'm not mistaken you won't receive any extra airdrop points just for holding the pack. You'd have to buy the pack in the shop using vouchers to get the 300 airdrop points per pack. Would appreciate you filling me out on what I missed! Thanks!

Hi Pogier. No, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if you bought it from the market or from Splinterlands itself. I bought a land plot from the market and I get airdrops for it. I can't confirm it because I hadn't transferred the pack over from HIVE ENGING to the game, but I just did and I'll know tomorrow. I'll try to remember to come back and tell you but if I don't, I won't be offended if you ask me again to let you know!! :)

Oh I see. I might be mistaken then. So the airdrop requires you to just hold the packs then. The only difference then is eligibility for the airdrop. Thanks for clarifying!

Yes that's right!! You just have the packs there and you get airdrops for it! :) YAY!

All right i get your point, and now understand your decision, although still do not fully agree with it, yeah it seems a bit flawed for me. However i'm following you, reading your posts and therefor i see how you are going forward. Well i have to admit you are doing it great! Keep it up! :)

Well, thanks Bence. I understand why you wouldn't agree with it. Let's say it was an impulsive move, sort of like standing in the check out line and you see the LAST HOT ITEM IS RIGHT THERE WAITING TO BE PURCHASED... just can't resist that Trident Cinnamon Bubble Gum.. pretty much EVERY TIME for me hahaha ;) It's my ENFP Personality. I'm pretty much a GO GO GO! Cheerleader girl so it is hard for me to reign in the emotions sometimes and not buy... hahaha :)

Thank you so much, Bence, for following me and reading my posts. I am just trying to have fun with it and give perhaps a different perspective. :) You have a fantastic day!
