BTC ATH party?

in LeoFinance3 years ago

So it has only been 19 days since the last, but here we are again - another Bitcoin All Time High. I don't even have much Bitcoin to speak of, but all time highs are always nice to witness "live" and the idea behind them is great, as all holders are in profit. Though, if buying on the hype a few weeks ago, not in profit by much.

For me as a small Bitcoin holder, I don't gain too much, though I am not complaining about the 37% I am getting on CUB for my BTC/BNB pairing of late. Quite incredible to think that when that went in there, it was worth about a quarter of what it is today. However, what this means for the industry as a whole is more attention and what I always hope for, more investors looking wider and into the alts - hopefully those that have actual usecase and working products... you know... like HIVE.

We still have three weeks left in November and that gives it plenty of time for a massive push toward the magical 100K threshold, at which point I am "expecting" some large profit taking on the unit bias. However, since everyone is expecting that, I am kind of hoping it does the unexpected and the bulls sponge that dump up fast and make a very hard push for the 120 mark. I think that would be a nice place for profit taking for many, a little bit of a settling plateau for people to catch their breath and then, up and away again.

I am not predicting price. The reason is, I have no idea, but I like to pretend that I have a little prophetic sense. Though, when I bought the Splinterlands VOUCHERs the other day, it seems that I timed it well enough and caused a bit of a spike in price. When I bought I took everything up to about 21 HIVE in price and it hasn't come down again by the looks. Everyone selling ito the market must be a little happier.

If I wanted to get the same amount now, the top price I would have to pay is a smidge under 30 HIVE. So, 30% less sounds like I got them on sale! :D I know have a nice round number of 1300, after buying 6 more packs today with my own vouchers, which got me one more Promo card. I think that is well worth it. I will get another 25 or so vouchers in the first 1M emission, but I am thinking I might sell those into the market if it stays up and if it crashes, I will buy them back again. However, the last week of this presale is going to get pretty crazy with FOMO I beleive, especially on the back of a BTC ATH.

This is why these BTC high events are important, because there are plenty of holders out there looking to secure some of their gains, with many who want "secure" to still be in crypto. Splinterlands is good for that, especially since it is expected to still be moving rapidly up and due to use case, have some bear protection in-built. So, perhaps a little Bitcoin will find its way into the Hive ecosystem in the coming days or weeks.

This swapping of tokens is good for the industry and the distribution in general, as while the larger holders take profits, they are selling to many smaller holders who are looking to take a position in the future. As those large profit takers start spreading their wealth, they are reward the (relatively) smaller early adopters that have supported micro projects in comparison to the BTC behemoth.

The more this happens and the less that goes to fiat, the more lucrative staying in crypto becomes and as such, the more spread of development and wealth will take place, attracting more into the industry and increasing the amount of support and giving a higher incentive to develop and innovate further. In short order (in the grand scheme), there could suddenly be a billion or two active people generating some level of wealth on blockchains and this makes them an economic force, attracting more business to cater for them in an attempt to capture that value as business profits.

The industry is rapidly advancing and while the media outlets are still in the FUD and FOMO new cycle, more people are getting in and discovering that it is far less scary than they thought it was going to be and wondering, why they didn't join the party earlier.

The party is just warming up.

Just wondering, if you are able to influence the Splinterlands voucher prices just with your purchase, then correct me if I am wrong you would have been making large volumes of trade. Which also means, if you are intending to sell it, you cannot do so at one go or you might potentially crash the price?

You had me at FOMO about the packs and the promo card lol. I was saving some hive for some other stuff then read your post the other day about buying the vouchers and the packs. I’m hoping to hit 100 packs by the end of it all, securing two promo cards. Still would love to get one to level 3 if I could. It will be expensive but worth it, I didn’t realize it was going to be a neutral card! Ugh there goes my power up funds hahaha. Such is life though, fluctuations and investments!

I’m pretty annoyed, I said to myself on Sunday when I saw the price of bitcoin hovering around 62 that I need to buy some. I forgot then boom it was 67k. Ah well, got a little less for the money but still up. Took both of my “stimulus” checks this/last year and dumped them right into bitcoin. I think it was at 30k at that point so I doubled my money!

The neutral is a bit of a gamechanger and an unknown quantity for this card. I have gone pretty conservative in my price estimate I think, at least in the mid-term view. The Gold will be valuable, but I don't think overly useful for most, other than for the rarity and CP points. I suspect that will be around 10K in CP - but not sure.

If only you weren't such a loser and had bought a TV instead, like 80% of other people! ;D

Splinterlands is really killing it. It's so good that it can't be ignored anymore. Some decent sized channels (like altcoinbuzz) have made videos of it. Some videos about Splinterlands have gathered tens of thousands of views whereas a year ago there barely was anything on Youtube.

I think that the presence is only going to grow and I hope that there is a bit of quality that attracts ew eyes in. =)

I noticed you have a lot of CL packs now, how many vouchers did you buy?

I grabbed a little over 900. I had bought a few earlier and, I hade some of my own. Not hard to push the price up on them, as the market is thin.

Wow, that’s about 20k hive, what’s motivated you to spend so much?

Yeah, it was that, plus the purchase price. I didn't use my Hive directly though, I bought it off the markets with other tokens.

Umm, I think that the 25 Promos + 1 gold + title should cover over a third of the purchase price. It got me an additional 150 free packs, so that is 160 all up, as I had some from what I was going to buy (100 packs). This means that if I am okay with opens it should come close-ish to breaking even in the next few months, if I am lucky and get a GFL or two, it should be fine. Mostly though, I see that Splinterlands might be a decent place to park the value longer term and I like to support Hive experiences. I have a fair amount of Hive already, so supporting second-layer is now more important to me too.

Great answer, it will help all who read this thread, will the 25 + 1 gold be airdropped to you? then you will have whatever comes from opening 1300 pack?

Bitcoin is is leader of the crypto .i am sure once it touch 100k then ALT coins will have massive movement which make the crypto market worth 6 Trillion .CUB finance still early and juicy to buy which i am predicting to be atleast 3X return in the next bull run.

I think at the 100, there might still be a small selloff, as it is a nice round number. The people who bought at 100, 1000 or 20,000 might not be able to resist.

I am happy and I don't know why :) May be it's the happiness of my involvement or the validation that what I believed was true. I have no idea what I am saying tbh.

There is always an air of positivity when there are highs - except from no-coiners and doomsdayers :)

Thanks for such post I really appreciate it in the sense of Developing act of investing more on crypto

Hope it helps :)

It is really nice investing in the crypto blockchain and I love the way you always go about yours @tarazkp

Bitcoin has increased more than $4,000 and broken the $67,000 threshold in hours. It is really difficult to predict the price of Bitcoin, but it looks that $100,000 mark is close. However there could be ups and downs in this trend. (Not A Financial Advise)

It seems that I also have a reason to party even if I don't have any bitcoin.

Score!
That is a decent card. I maxed one early on (paid more than it is worth now I think) and really like it. I don't use it at max though.

Dear @tarazkp, Will you soon become a millionaire?😲

Yes!
Inflation from debt is devaluing money so fast, we are all going to be millionaires!

It is exciting to see these numbers happening lately. I know many people predicted them, but believing it is going to happen and then actually seeing it happen are often two different things. I have a very small amount of BTC too. I wish I was a whole coiner, but I have enough investments in other things that I should be okay.

It is a lot less scary after meeting Hive. For sure.

I like that it is warming up!
