In regards to the philanthropy tweet, I have been writing for years about how charities (the ones that care at least) will start using blockchains instead of banks. They can transfer fast, free (on Hive at least) and granularly to anyone with a smartphone. It gets around so much of the bureaucracy and middleman fees, but also the localized problems, like warlords and corrupt governments. Throw in some DAOs and yield earnings on donations, and there is an industry in and of itself that does some real good.
Yep, now we just need merchants to accept hive and we'll instantly have feeless 100% transparent donations that can instantly be used.

Not to mention they could then be held accountable...
Too many charities have too much money just "disappear" into the abyss.
