But it seems like when the dips really happen, everyone is scared the sky is falling, and that's when people miss oppurtunity.
Yep - IAt these times, I can be a bit annoyed if I have nothing left to buy with, but I always assume up is the trend direction for most things long-term, so buy as many dips as I can :)

Yeah, when I tell people I'm buying the dip, they point out it will probably go lower. Oh yeah. It could. Then I'd buy more. In the end if I expect it to rise from where I bought it eventually, it doesn't really matter if I timed the floor perfectly. Not everything needs to be a short term flip.
