The world of online advertising is enormous. It is something that is not going to diminish anytime soon.
Many of us are excited about the addition of the ad revenue model to Leo. This puts the site in the game which accounts for hundreds of billions of dollars each year. In other words, it is time for us to take a slice of the pie.
When we look at the numbers, we can see how even the slightest amount of traffic will be beneficial.
Here is a look at the ad revenue for Meta, one of the biggest generators of traffic online.
As we can see, this company generates around $155 billion in revenue per year, just from the ads. The last couple saw a huge jump, something we will have to watch over the next couple years.
Regardless of individual company, we know the online ad world is enormous.
LeoAds Model
LeoAds has a two pronged approach for people to share in the revenue generated.
To quickly cover it, we see it breaks down as follows:
A) Leo Power holders will get LEO distributed based upon the revenue generated over a period of time (monthly) which is used to purchase on the market, and then is doled out according upon stake.
B) The content creators who generate the pages will receive 50% of the ad revenue that comes from the totality of their pages. This is called "evergreen content" under this program.
LeoGlossary is focusing upon the second option as the means of generating the revenue.
Alchetron
Did you ever hear of the website Alchetron?
It is evidently an online encyclopedia. Obviously this is not in the same class as Wikipedia.
This does, however, provide a very important lesson.
When we look at the analytics, we see this is something that is generating close to 2 million pageviews per month. This is from Similarweb.com:
As we can see, there are 1.3 million visits per month with the average page per visit at 1.49. This totals just under 2 million pages.
This is from a site most of us never heard of.
Of course, the same holds true for Leo. So what makes this any different?
Massive Expansion
There is a key difference in what we are starting to develop. The goal of LeoGlossary is to provide people with utility. So far, a lot of the effort went into the glossary. We already have a nice foundation in finance and business. The movie project is starting to round out well. We are already to over 1,000 pages under that.
Of course, this alone will not generate clicks. Here is where providing other features is going to be paramount. In fact, we are about to embark upon the next phase of content creation, something that will help us to build a nice library.
To go one step further, if we are right about technology, there is the chance that this next phase grows into something much bigger.
In other words, this is a longer term plan shaping up that is much bolder than just a glossary or wiki type site.
Community Driven
At the moment, things are rather small. We are still putting some of the pillars in place. There is a bit of experimentation taking place with some different things tested out before being posted.
That said, what is so powerful about LeoGlossary is how it can scale. With the ad revenue project, that means resources can be available. Basically, the more money that comes in, the more people who can be incentivized to add more pages.
It is not a complicated process. If you want more page views, it is a good idea to have more pages.
Wikis were always a labor of love. For now, we can say the same thing. However, there will come a time when Web3 enters the picture. This is the difference that we foresee. There will be entire industries cropping up as the decentralized nature of things starts to take hold. It is hard to see now but that is always how disruption operates.
For that reason, pulling $100K per month from the entire Internet ad pool is not an unreasonable target in our opinion. Work is being done to get an integrated system that keeps feeding more page views. Again, because it is still small, it is hard to see at the moment.
It is easy to envision how some of this is going to result in millions of pageviews per month. The old approach to Hive is being supplemented. LeoGlossary is going in a completely different direction. No longer are rewards the focus. Instead, we are looking to access something that, historically, is much bigger.
We aim to pull in our piece of this rather large pie.

That will be an epic boost to Leo Finance overall. You're doing great work on the Leo Glossary front
Hmm. Imdb but on Hive? Like the movie rating system would be cool.
I think with this ad revenue model people will be more inclined to promote their posts on other social media platforms to generate external traffic which is a win win situation really.
It's cool to see how LeoGlossary is aiming big in the online advertising world. With a community-driven approach and diverse content, it could really grow. LeoGlossary has some exciting times ahead!
