It appears to be clicks on the thread itself. Each time someone clicks on the thread, or the comment bubble it adds to it.
I also notice it ads 1 when clicking out of notifications.

Yeah I'm seeing that as well so it's just a total rough estimate. Not sure I'm a fan of it really.
I dont know how accurate it is. Khal said it is being pulled for the LeoAds API. So it tied to an official counter. I dont know if it is being run through a smart contract yet or not.
