I also think having a real stable coin would be hugely beneficial for the ecosystem, or maybe even more than one

HBD took a huge pump last night and its still elevated. I am not sure how well it is working as a stable coin. Maybe we just need more time so there is more HIVE/HBD in the market that a single whale can't manipulate prices.
