Winning the match earns you 3 point, a tie brings you 1 point, losing the match equals 0 points. Best teams from the group stage are promoted to the play-offs, which you likely know from the US sports. England is going to win this group, they did not mind the draw really.

Each victory gives 3 points, Draw just 1 point .
The top two from each group bracket with the highest scores move on to the knockout stage.
Defeat wins nothing, in fact you don't even deserve to win anything since you lost. LOL
