This is really cool. An attempt to help the interrupt the flow of plastic and other debris in our oceans.
These intercept the debris as it comes down large rivers and pulls it out of the water.
They are now releasing version 3 later this year.

It seems nice but I wonder how much plastic they actually collect and how much is produced per year? If we can't collect more than produced then we might still have issues.

They have done 250K football fields so far.
It is just a small drop in the bucket though. We produce an amazing amount of plastic, a lot of it which ends up floating in the Pacific.

Yea we only got a few of these vehicles and there is just way too much plastic. The oceans are a sitting pot of plastic now and its probably in our drinking water.

And in the fish we eat.
I think this is one of the biggest environmental problems there is. Plastic is becoming microplastic which is in seafood hence gets into us.
Plus all that we have on land and whatnot.

It is just as the problem that exists with water, there is not enough technology to convert salt water into suitable for human consumption, that's where the new water magnates emerge and as currently a million liters of water is around $ 900 which I see extremely economical compared to what it will cost in just over 2 decades! I think we have inherited a big headache from our children's children!

And potentially making humans infertile if I remember well from that article you shared some days ago.
It's a very concerning issue.

Yea I wonder if we can put the reason why we have so many woke people on plastic. It has geared people's mind towards insanity.

Too much plastic and we need to find a way to dispose or at least clean it up. These minor efforts can't possible match the amount we produce everyday.

It will be somewhat complex if you look at the fish that we eat has small plastic spores, this means that it is a really huge problem, although it is not bad at all that solutions are already being implemented, it would be worse to do nothing!

That's very nice. I hope we can get more of those up and running.

this is like trying to make the air cleaner by using a household vacuum cleaner :) the problem are single use plastics, and the fact it's very difficult to replace them with something biodegradable. A lot if not most plastics are not even recyclable from a practical perspective, regardless what the industries tries to tell the public
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
That's true. Only a small percentage of plastic actually gets recycled.
It's a huge problem... it's hard to recycle, it's hard to incinerate because of toxins

Hemp is a viable alternative to single use plastics and an economical one.

Ok, I want to see bottles made of that stuff :)
