Sometimes you just get lucky.
Our endeavor into space is going to have to include being able to grow food out there. Bacteria on the ISS could show researchers the path to achieving this.

I think the biggest issue is that most of what we did is on Earth which means many things are possible under different environmental conditions. I expect way more changes but whether or not they will work will depend on the researchers. I think that growing things out there is kind of bad because transportation costs will be too high.

Excellent! Now we won't have to use astronaut shit like in that Matt Damon movie LOL

Shit is fertilizer.
That is why there are all those cow patties in the crop fields.
Manure works well.

Manure is life and I know it well because I like to plant. As I moved to my new home at the end of the year, I was unable to bring many plants and I am currently only growing strawberries, mint, blackberries, jabuticaba and coriander.

Hmmm I love jabuticaba
It reminds me of my great-grandparetns. They lived in a farm and they had several jabuticaba trees on their property. I used to spend vacations there as a kid, eating jabuticaba straight from the trees all day long heheheh
Good memories :)

I believe they are really good memories :)
Jabuticaba is very good.

I believe that our alien friends helped in this part of introducing us to some bacteria :)
Well, these bacteria will be fundamental because the cultivation in space will be important for the survival of our species.
These things remind me of the movie "The Martian". The guy was very smart and managed to survive in the face of various adversities.
