Bitshare was delisted from a major CEX. Without CEX listings it is hard to get liquidity for your coin. VSC smart contracts and wrapping gives us Liquidity.
That is the basics of it.

What if it was something crypto related? Like info of all the blockchains for example. Word spreads, people link out and crypto people come to check that out and are now exposed to Hive without Hive being shilled to them.

I read a post from @lordbutterfly noting the importance of VSC in the context of bitshares grinding down. I do not understand what's the connection.
