The House could nominate Trump as Speaker of the House. There is no requirement to be in Congress to be Speaker. He would be third in line for the presidency then.

I would like to see it solely for the entertainment value. Not like I listen to what Trump says anyway since he is blowing wind most of the time.
There are several MAGA-Pundits urging the Republicans to do that - but I think we will probably see someone like Jim Jordan ultimately get nominated. There is a lot of backroom deals and negotiating happening right now.
Yeah. I would say you are right. Trump doesnt realize he is an outsider and the Washington establishment, both parties, do not like those who arent them.
But it still would be a riot to see it happen. People would lose it.
On the other hand, there are suggestions that #nevertrump Republicans and Democrats might put someone like Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger if they have enough votes and enough spite.
