Do you think technology will remain the same in human history or will change as time passes by?

#technology always changes are time passes. Look at how different things were from 2020 with the introduction of LLMs.

Do you see how things have changed just due to the introduction of LLMs?

What positive impacts has technology contributed to humanity?

Providing more for less.

Consider the ability to communicate for basically nothing with the entire world.

That was not possible 40 years ago.

Meanwhile, me waiting for the new tech and being too old to understand.

See told you that you could do it.

Here is the next question. If there a way a simple game like that could be tied to Leo?

exactly! That's what I intend to try. I've already managed to set up a login with hive keychain in that separate project. Shouldn't be ttoO dofficult to tie this to some ssort of leaderboard. But we'll see how far I can get. I ran out of compute ttokens on my claude subscripton. It renews in 1 hou

Can Llama3.1 help? I am not sure how we can access some of the deflationary aspects of things.

haha it will not run on my system

I do not have 16 GPUs, nor 8 lol

LOL they are getting larger as time goes by.

I tried with the 8b version running it locally, but it's not very nice. Currently installing the 70b version of llama3 on my system - 39 gigabytes. Very excited to see if it will even run

The nice thing about running them locally is that I can add as much context as I want - including the entire codebase for the application I'm building - as opposed to on groq

Guess that idea went out the window based upon some of your other threads. Too big. LOL

Yep. I tried using both GPT4o, Llama3.1 70b and Google Gemini Premium yesterday to continue developing the code. But none of them compared to Claude3.5. The closest I got to success was with Llama3.1, but that was still miles behind claude- in this particular case that is.

Using Claude, I managed to progress the development of the game significantly. Going to continue this afternoon with refreshed tokens. I'm quite excited about it

This was my starting point:

Technology

“Profession of the future”, technology sector faces crisis with overworked professionals and dissatisfied companies

Information technology (IT) was once considered the profession of the future, with high pay, benefits and stability.

According to the survey, many companies are integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into their platforms or even making their use the basis of their business.

For Sampaio and Rolim, AI serves as a support tool for professionals in the sector, as it automates repetitive tasks, frees up time for strategic activities and offers support in data analysis and cybersecurity.

Space

Juice space probe will use gravitational force to bounce on its way to Jupiter

The Juice space probe is preparing for a risky and unprecedented maneuver next month, using the gravitational pull of the Earth and the Moon to make a huge leap towards its target, the planet Jupiter.

The European Space Agency (ESA) spacecraft was launched in April 2023 with the mission to discover whether Jupiter's icy moons, Europa and Ganymede, are capable of harboring extraterrestrial life in their vast hidden oceans.

According to its complex navigation chart, Juice is expected to fly back to the Moon and then to Earth on August 19, at 21:00 GMT (18:00 Brasília time).

The gravitational pull of our planet and the satellite will cause the spacecraft to bounce and save fuel on its tortuous eight-year journey to Jupiter.

Wind Energy

Trains, planes and cars can be a source of wind energy

Investment in wind energy, together with solar energy, is quickly surpassing that allocated to energy production using fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas.

This is partly due to environmental protection measures, but also to the opposition of local residents, who are generally uncomfortable with the impacts on the landscape and noise.

The wind turbine prototype is just the beginning, says the state railway Österreichische Bundesbahnen, which wants to increase the share of self-generated electricity from renewable sources in railway power supply to 80%.

Wind turbines are also being installed along railway tracks so that gusts of wind generated by passing trains turn the blades.

If Web 3.0 aims to move towards the read/write/own paradigm where are a lot of people not adopting it?

My view is very few understand what it means to be an owner. They still operate like users and refuse to take responsibility for what is happening.

Don't be afraid of technology. Fear those who control them.

Who controls #technology? The more we create, especially in an open source manner, the less that is controlled.

The problem is people keep using what is controlled by others.

Why do they fear Google or Meta? They are the ones who willing use them.

Who controls #technology?

That's the million dollar question.

If AI takes all of our jobs, who is going to buy everything?

This logic is not in the plans in the future. There will be sectors where AI will not control and there will also be other sectors where we will have humans and machines.

But following your line of reasoning, perhaps there would be a kind of "social money" where each person would have a value to be able to do what they want. But it's just a hypothesis.

AI will control most everything. Couple that with robotics and we will see how the job market is will dwindle almost completely.

It will be just like that. I have no doubt about that.

And some sectors are already being replaced, the change has already begun.

We are going to see a restructuring of society.

But also, that is why it is important to switch from income to asset. This is why so many cannot envision the answer.

It is honestly why Web 3.0 has failed. People cannot grasp ownership.

Do you mean shifting our focus from income to assets is how we can take control of our fate once AI takes our jobs? This is an eye-opener. Thank you for this.

Yes. AI is going to radically increase the means of production. The question is who owns that output?

If income capital is going away, it is necessary to have a different type of capital, one that comes from assets.

It is why staking capital in Web 3 is so important.

if all jobs are taken by AI, then we become kings and AI is our slave

Since data privacy, security, and control are some of the issues WEB3 addresses, what do you think companies generating money from data selling will do to keep people from transitioning into WEB3?

The problem with Web 3.0 is most cannot understand the ownership aspect of things. They are income (wage slaves). Until that mindset changes, everything else is just noise.

Might be difficult to tell but with all that's going on for crypto in politics, do you foresee a bull run in 2025? #askingquestions

I dont know when markets will take off. It could be when things explode.

That said, we already have moved up from like $20K to $67K. That is a rather bullish move.

Then there's a huge possibility for more growth I suppose

Zuck's new Llama is a beast

#meta #llama3 #ai

AI Models: LLAMA 3.1 Heavy and GPT 4

• LLAMA 3.1 is a massive 405 billion parameter model with a 128,000 token contacts length.
• It is superior to OpenAI's GPT 40 and beats Claude 3.5 Sonet on some key benchmarks.
• The model is open source, allowing developers to make money off it as long as their app doesn't have 700 million monthly active users.
• The training data for the model is not open source, which might include blog posts, GitHub repos, Facebook posts, and WhatsApp messages.
• The model weights are open, a significant win for developers building AI-powered apps.

• The model can be fine-tuned with custom data and will soon have some amazing uncensored fine-tune models like dolphin.
• The model can build a Spell 5 web application with Runes, a new yet to be released feature.
• Despite its impressive capabilities, the model has not replaced programmers, and AI hasn't replaced programmers.
• Meta is the only big tech company keeping AI real in the AI space, and llama is one small step for Zuckerberg's Redemption Arc.

#meta is working on Llama4.

This is where Zuck wanted to close the gap with closed models.

Ghostery's CEO says regulation won't save us from ad trackers

With Ghostery turning 15 years old this month, TechCrunch caught up with CEO Jean-Paul Schmetz to discuss the company's strategy and the state of ad tracking.

The world of online advertising has changed dramatically since Ghostery first launched in 2009 to help people understand and block all the ways that advertisers were tracking them.

Max Space reinvents expandable habitats with a 17th-century twist, launching in 2026

Max Space's expandable habitats promise to be larger, stronger, and more versatile than anything like them ever launched, not to mention cheaper and lighter by far than a solid, machined structure.

Working and even living in space has shifted from far-off fantasy to seemingly inevitable reality, but the question remains: what exactly will the next generation of space habitation look like? For Max Space, the answer is clear, and has been for decades — centuries, even. A new generation of expandable habitats could offer both safety and enough room to stretch your legs, and the first one is going up in 2026.
