As for the Knicks, they don't have anyone near the caliber and toughness of the 1999 team, never mind the 1973 championship team. The wait will continue for at least another decde.
Well I dont follow the NBA closely but I dont think the league, in general, is as tough as decades ago.
They played a much tougher game back then.
NBA was tougher N D '90s, 4 sure. On top of that, '90s Knicks were a brutal team; even if a team beat Da Knicks, that team was in pain 4 days afterward. While Da Bulls were respected, Da Knicks were feared.
Mark Messier could have been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame solely for the 1994 Stanley Cup run. Even haters of the NYR recognize this edition as a legendary team.
