That's because most people's measure of progress is price. Seriously, if you look below the surface and consider the financial energy being amassed behind the scenes, it's almost scary. Look what Splinterlands is doing if you want an example. Three years of building and then all of a sudden cards that were selling for $5-$10 are in the thousands. THAT'S what's coming for Hive at some point. True price discovery. Right now it's just cheap. At some point it's going to start boiling over and people are going to start looking into what it should actually be worth. IMO, it's at least a $20 blockchain. At least. A few more "hits" with games, apps, layer 2's, etc. and it could be worth far more than that.
Right now it's less than 50 cents. People dream about the 10x's, 100x's, 1000x's, well there's a legitimate chance we have one right here. And you can earn it for FREE by commenting and voting.
Yes, I have no idea but a LOT. Let's face it, there will have to be literally millions of HIVE bought up for the price to really take off. So many people have been sitting on it for so long that there will be a lot of selling on the way up. But once that is worked through (and locking it up in the aforementioned apps will help) this place is poised for an explosion. I also can't wait for a couple of these new things to arrive. I've only been back for 8 months and it feels like I've been waiting years. I can't even imagine how antsy you must be getting... :-)
Millions can get gobbled up quickly. The SpkNetwork will draw in a lot of Hive simply be people purchasing miners. People will want more than is dropped to them.
Also, we are seeing the RC being eaten up. This is what @splinterlands is experiencing.
4 or 5 applications like Splinterlands will send things flying.
Exactly, because humans lack patience and fail to enjoy the process.
We are really bad now in the instant gratification age. Nevertheless, we will have to be patient because development simply takes time.

I agree with you. It is starting us in the face. Most people cannot see what is before them.
Hive has a tremendous amount of development taking place. What is interesting is the Hive Application Framework could really kick it into overdrive.
For me, I am so looking forward to SpkNetwork and the SIP. Can you imagine the amount of Hive that will end up in there?
