Xpeng’s flying car AEROHT, or the Land Aircraft Carrier, features a modular design with a detachable air module housed within a ground vehicle. This first-of-its-kind system enables autonomous separation and reconnection.
The ground module, or “mothership,” transports the air module to a launch site, where it vertically takes off with a single command. After landing, it seamlessly reattaches, allowing a smooth transition back to driving.
Electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with advanced safety features, such as redundant power, propulsion, and flight control technologies, make up the air module. For stable and effective flying, its dual-duct six-rotor design with foldable propellers is supported by a lightweight carbon fiber frame.
