Use in EV battery and buildings
The Engineer‘s report indicates that Brunel University’s testing showed a 30% energy savings and a more consistent temperature.
Flint Engineering claims that IsoMat-based EV battery cooling plates maintain a consistent battery cell temperature of 25°C +/- 1°C, leading to increased driving range and extended battery lifespan.
IsoMat cools EV batteries by circulating a low-pressure fluid through its plate. The internal fluid undergoes phase changes to absorb heat more effectively than traditional water-cooling while also keeping water away from the battery cells for safety.
“IsoMat tackles the climate crisis head-on. It future-proofs industries against rising global temperatures, advances climate change resilience and dramatically improves efficiency,” said Mark Robinson, CEO of Mayfield, East Sussex-based Flint Engineering, in the statement as the Engineer reported.
