Maybe they'll try them again when we have more regulatory clarity and they can actually implement something that rewards users for their contributions, like LEO does...

It could have, and it would probably have worked, but without regulatory clarity many of the things are not possible.
Even Hive and LEO do thing that are not 100% certain that are not illegal, like giving ppl adRevenue, or HBD and interest
