RE: Daily Crypto Markets Live Blog: Gaming Key To Crypto Adoption (09/27/21)

I don't know much about Axie because I don't play it, but one thing I like about Splinterlands which, despite not being unique to it, it's different from most blockchain games is that there is actually a gaming aspect present.

Some other blockchain games are mostly DeFi platforms with a different UI to make it look more like a game. Splinterlands is different in the fact that it is actually a game

Gamified DeFi isn't the same as a blockchain game. The requirements of DeFi constrain whatever gamification is placed on top of the DeFi. A blockchain game can be designed as such from scratch, and it can be as simple or as complex as needed or desired.

I agree and yet a lot of gamified DeFi platforms are market as and referred to as games. They lack actual gaming experience though...

I don't mind it as much because it still helps to spread the word around but it's very important to know and understand the difference before one decides to jump in

I don't care if people are playing blockchain games or gamified DeFi. What matters is that people realize what they are playing so that they don't waste time with the wrong sort of game or "game."
