I think adding interest to HBD was a great plan. It incentivizes people to hold onto their HBD because currently it has no real use case besides conversion to HIVE. So it either has a value of 0 or $1 depending on how you look at it.

Exactly, everything will depend on people now. Let's see if they keep their HBDs in their accounts, especially the big investors.

Yea but I have a feeling that the whales might want to keep things liquid for the bull run. If the price is right, I think they will exchange it in for profits and buy back in when price drops.

I agree , I am tempted to do the same actually . I usually convert it as soon as I hit 5 HBD or so but now I wanna keep HBD as it is .

The idea of paying interest on HBD was a great move. They also have the ability to raise it via hard fork I believe.
We will see if they can get the price stabilized.

For the moment they have it as an experiment. Let's see what happens in the first few months, how investors react and what they do with the HBDs in their accounts.

It shows that we are making progress as a chain. Starting to address some of the issues that are requiring attention.

Agree , I also like the fact that many users opposed the move of posting and getting author rewards in HBD to convert to Hive .
Although I support the posts , I like that we are open for discussion .

It is important to discuss these matters. We need to address the things that will add utility to the chain as opposed to trying to just get things to work.

at some point, i was holding my hbd because of the interest. it is a nice incentive for people to hold value

It is a good incentive. Not a ton of money but imagine those who are engaging in commerce and hold a lot of HBD for their business.
This provides a nice return.

Agree , recently Hivelist opened a store , maybe they can utilize HBD as a payment along with other tokens .

I also really liked this implementation for HBD. What I think will be more complicated is to make HBD finally what it should be, a stablecoin.
