Are there any good articles breaking down the entirety of Hive's tokenmic system (block rewards, allocations, inflation, burning, how HBD works, creator rewards, curation, DAO, etc.)?
I found a few good ones on Steem, but I don't know if things have changed since the fork.
Also I want to recommend them to new Hive users and don't want to confuse them with it saying "Steem".

Not really. That is one of the issues. Most people are told just read the gitlab. One of my biggest issues with Hive users.
But in inflation the hive account dalz does some write ups on inflation that are pretty good

Yes, When the hard fork happened or shortly after, a waiting period of, I believe, 30 days was introduced in order for HP to be used in governance. This is to prevent a hostile take over by using customer funds held in exchanges from being used in governance votes.
