Monero had a surge of transactions last year, probably in a flooding attack, another thing that can drastically reduce privacy, especially when combined with the recently-publicized MAP Decoder Attack.

According to Duke Leto:

"...if the flooding attacker... then use[s] MAP Decoder... that is an effective ring size of 1.3. That is like Waldo hiding in a crowd consisting of himself and 1/3 of another person."

That's pretty scary! 😱

If you use Monero, please read the mitigation techniques I mention below like your life depended on it!

Are you going to continue? I am a Monero user and remember this happening, so would love to know your thoughts.

Yeah read the linked blog post.

It wasn’t showing… It finally popped up. Gotta love it when they are doing updates, 😂

As I commented in the post, these are really great tips for any chain really. I use multiple wallets and move money around all the time. If the wallet allows multiple addresses, then use that feature for all allowable chains.

Understanding fundamental crypto privacy takes a lot of practice.
