A 15-year-old kid managed to steal $24 MILLION in #crypto by convincing his friend, who worked for AT&T, to help with a SIM swap attack.

Don't 👏use👏your👏real👏phone👏number👏

Never use it, use a VoIP number instead.

Don't 👏store👏recovery👏phrases👏online👏

Hand-write them down, use a steel letter backup, whatever, but don't just throw them in cloud storage somewhere! 😱

You want to get rekt? Come on people.

I also think so but online backup is not bad also. I have an online backup but I divided those phases and changed a little for security purposes and except me, nobody can steal my money even if somebody gets all the words of the seed phase.

Yes, an advanced form of backup would be required. Not something as simple and easy to hack as what he used.

Storing delicate info like recovery phrases of our wallets is not something that should be stored online because anyone with little ideas about tech can easily break into your emails or where you saved those keys and passwords etc.
