JP, its charismatic founder, hit the pause button on two of the network's more controversial functionalities. In short order, the nodes reversed the decision.
THORChain's model is interesting. It has a centralized pause button, which enables very fast acting in case of emergencies (you're dealing with lots of people's money here!), but a decentralized node veto mechanism.
Good to see it work as intended!
Also sounds like the centralized "pause button" will be going away anyway.
