Yesterday Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz announced that the Bank of Canada will be launching public consultations about who should appear on the new bill.

I live in the US so will not be able to participate but I like the idea and I wonder how the voting works. Do they give a choice of a few people or is it opened to anyone and the person with the most votes wins?
I'd like to see H.R.H. Tommy Douglas on a Canadian Banknote for a change.
