I am done with holding $BTC

Almost $44 transaction fee???

WTF! Completely useless for normal people

Sort:

digital gold, set the fee lower and wait. Not good for transactions, just for hodling. I’m not into lightning network at all, for me btc is store of value and nothing else and hive is everything else.

Yeah, I waited till a dip in transaction fee and sold it all into LTC which is way more usable and is also a store of value. I am also going more into Monero too.

Yeah, the fees these days are quite ridiculous especially if we are just transacting a small amount.

It’s completely unusable for most people

Yes. Unless most are just holding

Honestly I don’t see the point in rhat. I like for my assets to work for me.

Truth there. Due to the fees, I've not touched my small BTC holdings for quite a while.

Yeah I need my money to work, I can’t just let it sit and do nothing .

I have no problem at all with this. I'm doing BTC transactions once every 2-3 month, and when I do - usually I can wait 1-2 days (sure you need a proper clever wallet, which will allow you to set custom fee levels). After all, If I need a quick BTC move, there always the much faster Lightning network.

I am not generally moving enough BTC to warrant paying these crazy fees. I did suck it up and shifted my stack to LTC and Monero which is way more usable for me, so now I can transact on a daily basis, which I basically live on this stuff, without paying 10% of my stack to pay for a stupid transaction. This is also why I refuse to use anything on Ethereum.

I am not the biggest fan of Lightning as I have had poor experiences everytime I try to use it.

But if that is your thing, and you don't mind, use it. It's just not for me anymore. I say use what works for you and what works for me, and continues to prove themselves are $HIVE $LTC and $XMR.

That is nuts! Intearcting with BTC is an expensive hobby
I think I am just trading BTC on Hive Engine and only for value storing purposes.

I trade BTC futures on the ApolloX DEX on BSC. I have had this for a while and need to actually use some but I am not paying 10% of my little stack to just send the shit

Yeah that makes 0 sense, reminds me of ethereum days where you paid 80$ to move 100$

Yep, I don’t use that garbage anymore either

well, I have said this before. Bitcoin is just enjoying first-mover advantage. no one really uses it for anything tangible. It is a speculative asset despite being decentralised.

Yep. But I would like to get it into another asset without losing over 10% of my holdings to transaction fees

Yes, it's absurd, and the same goes for $ETH. #Hive has a bright future ahead of it!
