I know a lot of people who see booing together as a great way to unwind, destress and bond with colleagues and adversaries alike.
Let's unwind with some Indian whiskey
I was going through some data related to whiskey and sifting through the heaps of data it came as an interesting surprise to see how the numbers from the top international whiskey brands look like.
Any guesses which is the world's top selling whiskey brand and which country does it come from?
My readers may be surprised to know that the top selling whiskey brand is Mcdowell's Whiskey and it comes from India.
While most people associate whiskey with Scotland, however the numbers tell a different story.
With 31.4 million cases being sold by this brand it scores the perfect points to top the charts the top selling whiskey brand globally.
Not only that it has some good company with other Indian whiskey brands as well.
Royal Stag is the number two brand that sells over 27.9 million cases yearly and this agin is a brand from India.
Close to this is Officer's choice brand that comes at number 3 and sells 23.4 million cases in a year.
If there were to be any competition for this brand it comes from another Indian brand that goes by the name of Imperial Blue.
Imperial blue sells 22.8 Million cases of its whiskey globally.
The International global market is a happening one and the way the Indian brands have dominated the market also reflects the way these brands cater to the whiskey palates of the global population.
Indian Whiskey dominance does not end there
With the fist four top spots being taken by the Indian brands India is leading whiskey maker and exporter to the world.
In addition the number 9 spot comes 8 PM whiskey brand loved by many.
At number 11 comes blender's pride and sells 9.6 million cases.
At number 12 we have Royal challenger selling over 6 million cases
- The Indian whiskey dominance does not end here at number 16 we have Sterling Reserves selling 5. million cases of its popular whiskey.
Apart from whiskeys from India we have whiskeys coming from USA, Japan, Scotland and Canada. These make the list of the top selling whiskey brands globally.
The Indian whiskeys sell well in the domestic Indian markets as well. A major chunk of the whiskey sales come from the domestic markets for India.
Going by the numbers it is quite clear that the Indians love their whiskey.
As is evident from the data almost more than half of the alcohol sales come from single malt whiskey sales in India.
The alcohol market in India is poised to double from $56 billion in the coming years to over 112 billion by the time we reach the year 2034.
There is only Jim Beam from USA with 17 million cases cases sold a year and it comes at number 6 in the list.

With this information, there is very little US domination in the global whiskey markets.
India comes as a strong participant of the BRICs nations and with the talks of 100 percent tariff on the BRICS group the whiskey could get extremely expensive for the average American
Before such a thing becomes a reality perhaps it is time to indulge in some whiskey diplomacy and bond with him over some sessions of whiskey and reason with him and come up with a middle path and do away with these tariff wars.
