No. They are from St Louis.
Of course, the Arizona Cardinals of the #nfl use to play in St Louis and were called the St. Louis Cardinals.
It is like the NY Giants. When the SF Giants were in NY (before 1958) they were there with the NY Giants (football) team.
Ah, I didn't know the SF Giants used to be in NY.
Yes. The Giants and Dodgers were both in New York. They moved to California together.
The Mets got their colors, the blue and orange, from those two teams.
Interesting... are there still fans from those franchises in NY or that was so long ago that everyone is just into either the Yankees or Mets by now?
Most are dead. They moved after the 1957 season.
The ones that remain arent Yankee fans. Back then there was no interleague play. So if you were a NL fan, you wouldnt become a fan of the Yankees.
The Mets came around in 1962, a NL team, and filled the void. My dad was a Brooklyn Dodger fan and had no team until the Mets came around. Still a fan to this day.
Cool! Nice piece of baseball history
A lot of teams have moved. The Baltimore Orioles were the St Louis Browns.
There were two Washington Senators..one ended as Tx Rangers the other Minnesota Twins.
