Applying for a Token submission on CoinGecko | GIFU

in LeoFinance11 hours ago

Hey, so last post I introduced GIFU, you can check that post out HERE.

This time I will show you how I'm applying GIFU for a CoinGecko listing.

CoinGecko

CoinGecko is one of the world’s largest independent cryptocurrency data aggregators with over 16,000+ different cryptoassets tracked across more than 1,000+ exchanges worldwide.

With and average monthly users of over 10 million and 8 years of experience in their field, CoinGecko is very impactful for the whole crypto market economy.
CoinGecko App has over 1 million downloads with an Average rating of 4.8 stars.

This should also answer for the question of "Why ask for a listing on CoinGecko" pretty easily.

Applying for a listing

1 .
CoinGecko requires an account to be able to access the request form for applying. You can either create an account on their website or log in with Google account or Apple account.

2 .
The request form can be hard to locate on the website, if you don't know where to look. Simply scroll down to the bottom of the page, where under Support you will find Request form

3 .
Select the type of request you want to make

The most common one is New Token and that's the one I will be focusing on in this post only.

4 .

Fill in the token details in the necessary fields, the ones with (*) are mandatory and it's suggested you fill these ones with as much information as possible.

There are 5 different blocks that need to be filled, starting with Basic Token information and ending with Contract Information.
These you should all find on either Etherscan, BSC Scan, etc, Depending on what blockchain your Token is launched on.

5 .
Next comes even more information needed to fill in. Now it's the Supply information.

For this part you will need to know very detailed information about your token supply, this can be also found on token scan websites.
I struggled with finding the Total supply of GIFU, so I just added it all up myself at the end. You can create API's to automatically read the data for CoinGecko to have accurate supply numbers running for when you get listed, but I didn't have enough information at my proposal currently to create a running API for GIFU.

If the token gets accepted, I will be updating it with API codes.

Quick tip
I didn't have the exact information for the "Initial token allocation" tab, but it showed with (*) as mandatory to fill.
If you struggle with it also, then just closed/collapes the tab and you find that it's not actually mandatory :)

6 .

For the finishing 3rd category, it's "Additional information" with social media links, Token category, Token logo and of course the terms & agreement check marks :D

In total there were 16 blocks of information needed to fill with the last one being Addition information, which I highly recommend filling with something useful or interesting about the Token.

Finish

And once you have made sure your inserted data is correct, you're ready to click the Big Green.

That's my run through of creating a token submission request to CoinGecko. If you want to see if GIFU gets accepted or not, follow the project on Telegram and Discord

Oh didnt think they wanted to apply yet. But I hope they get listed on Coingecko 👏

It's worth a shot on these tokens that are in early stages with building their communities as if it should go through, it would help skip a bunch of the starting phases.

Can always reapply or update the current application, CoinGecko even encourages to update the application every 2 weeks until they either accept or label you as a criminal or smthing.

Hopefully it gets approved. 😀

Wish us luck!
