Young women going for sugar daddies exist everywhere, it doesn't represent "all women"
And I won't pretend to know anything about the reality of Africa (although I don't think a country or locality can't represent the whole continent either) so I would just talk about what we have read or heard over here, which might be wrong tho...
Isn't it a place where traditional gender roles are heavily imposed? where women have to be homemakers while men have to be the providers? that is what I know about, and that it get really extreme in some places, even when women have to work too because the economic situation demands it, the expectation is the same.
With economic crisis exploding around the world, in a society where women have always been taught to depend on men, what would happen?
It is not happening because women are bad and that's it.
