Civilization and Freedom

Combination of Human Values

Civilization is closely related to the progress and development of humanity. This means the evolution of society in cultural, social, economic and technological terms. Civilization means civilization and progress. However, civilization is not limited only to technological or economic development but is also intertwined with the concept of freedom.

We all want to be free, but do we know what this freedom really is, where to find it and how to seek it?

Freedom has been shaped by the fashions and trends of our time and has become far removed from its true meaning. The dominant force in today's societies and individuals is the desire to consume, and today the concept of freedom is shaped by the desire to consume. Today, freedom is associated with consuming more and owning more things.

The clearest sign that we are not free is suffering, when freedom diminishes; then the pain increases. This is true for all living things. If you observe a confined animal, you can see how tense, anxious and suffering it is. Especially when we look at animals that have been imprisoned in zoos for a long time, we see the consequences of this lack of freedom more clearly: animals have lost their psychological health and turned into animal remains, alienated from their own nature and in constant suffering. The same applies to humans. The cages and chains that people are in are much more complex and invisible. A person who has been deprived of freedom for a long time turns into a human remnant that has lost its shine, you can see it in his eyes that have lost their light.

A person without freedom is like a robot that acts only according to external warnings; he has become someone governed by the environment and conditions.

A person who appears free on the outside may lack freedom on the inside. A person who is free internally is still free even if he lacks freedom externally. To better understand freedom, we need to talk about mental freedom.

Freedom is an internal, that is, mental state. A free mind is as vast as the sky, it embraces everything and can go anywhere. The world of a captive mind is between four walls; it cannot see the horizon, cannot see the sky, cannot taste the vastness, cannot comprehend and enjoy the diversity and differences of life and people...

I'm curious about your thoughts too. :)
