"I've been trying to avoid taking a side in this conflict for my entire life."
I don't blame you. As you point out, when we take sides in intractable conflicts that become unreservedly violent, total war, we all lose. The only winners are arms and materiel producers, who seem to take everything we lose.
I saw a poll of European incels regarding these events this weekend, and the majority seem to hope both sides wipe each other out so we don't have to deal with them anymore. Seems a bit selfish to me (like incels care what I think of them), but I have managed to extricate myself from having to deal with any of it for quite some time now, and my own judgment is certainly selfish. Hell, I'm way ahead of the incels. I think I'll decide to STFU now before I say anything more that gets me cancelled or puts a fatwa on my head.
I can only lose, as you astutely observe, by saying more, and pushing for a better tomorrow is all win.
Thanks!
I’ve been watching this on Twitter as people argue back and forth vigorously and viciously accusing each other of being aligned to one faction or the other.
Some of this is chasing dopamine, some of it is the reaction to the atrocities - IN truth most of us will have little effect on the outcomes and course of events. Some cycles have to run their course, and the powers of this world are well practiced at manipulating their populaces.
