The Fortune of François Martin, or How to Become a Crypto-Billionaire

See Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4 and Part 5.

The origin of the fortune of François Martin is the two thousand US dollars he spent to buy Bitcoins in August 2010.

Steem, Hive, and Leo

Over the years when he was posting on Steemit/Hive, François had connected with several interesting people, and he had visited a few of them.
In 2018, he went to Arkansas to visit @papa-pepper. Even though they had different philosophies about life, they could communicate without a problem on many subjects.
And in 2019, with Borcsi, they toured several European countries, including Denmark, where they visited @katharsisdrill in Copenhagen, and other Steemians in Poland and Czechia.

In 2020, after the Hive fork, François stopped blogging on steemit.com, and switched to hive.blog and peakd.com.
He also discovered the financial community LeoFinance. So, he decided to also publish on this new platform. He sold all his Steems and bought Leo coins with the product of the sale.

On LeoFinance, François explained what he had done over the last ten years with cryptos. He also explained his crypto and financial philosophies:

  • play for the long term
  • no frequent trading
  • buy multiple coins, as most young coins are not successful
  • skim the cream from the very successful coins
  • do not buy on credit assets that will go down in value, except for your home

How to spend a billion dollars?

François was convinced that he would not be happier if he kept his fortune for himself and Borcsi. He had sufficient funds and producing investments and cryptos that he could live to 100 without a problem. He did not need to own more than two houses, one in Abbotsford and the other one near Harrison Lake in Harrison Hot Springs.
So, he did not need for himself the one billion US dollar that was the value of the 10,000 Bitcoins that he still owned.

First, he gave 2,000 Bitcoins to their charitable organization "Abbotsford MFBCJC", managed by Borcsi. (MFBCJC means Martin François Borcsi Clovis Joséphine Charles).

He gave 100 Bitcoins to each of his 3 children and to each of his five brothers and sisters in France.

Then, after consulting with his wife and children, this is what he decided to do:

  • The family office will get the rest of the Bitcoins (around 7,200)
  • They would buy farms near several cities in British Columbia and Washington State, similar to the one they had in Abbotsford. They started with Chilliwack, Kamloops, Kelowna, Salmon Arm in British Columbia, and Bellingham and Olympia in Washington State.
  • They would buy land in these same cities and build apartment buildings of 32 to 36 suites, half three-bedrooms, and half two-bedrooms, with a large dining room sitting at least 50. The concept had been quite successful in Abbotsford.
  • They would invest in several videogame studios, on the recommendation of Joséphine.
  • They would also buy land not far from exits of the Trans-Canada Highway. On the lands, they would put solar panels with solar trackers and the equipment to produce and compress hydrogen.
François was convinced that hydrogen was the fuel of the future, especially for trucks.

To do all of this, the family office hired several administrators and engineers. The children were managing the different companies owned by the family office, except for the hydrogen-producing one that François was taking care of. And Borcsi was managing the charitable organization.

To be continued ???

Remember that this is a work of fiction. François Martin does not exist (at least not the one in this story). But everything that is described could have happened IRL.

I am not going to continue the story, but anyone is welcome to do it.

Tis a good story though! Like an amalgamation of several characters including methinks a bit of your own thrown in!

You think right. As I said before in other comments, François is an idealized version of myself, but with much more luck and discipline.

Clovis and Charles, the two sons of François, have some resemblance with my two eldest daughters.

Oh dang, how did I miss the other episodes in this. I must be totally out of the loop. Sorry about that! I am at lest glad I was able to catch the end of it!

You did well with this continuation, I was wondering what next you were going to come up with. I felt a little uneasy François wasn't keeping any Bitcoin for himself, but well, he's still got other wicked coins and his future is secured.

Would have liked you to continue this fantasy, how about you continue anyway and use your years of experience and education to talk about what would happen next? What I mean is you talk about your predictions as if they really happen in future. How about that?

Instead of chasing dusty girls in church, why don't you try to make some predictions and continue the story yourself? 😀

Hahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
You've killed me with this one, I didn't see it coming at all!

Well, the story would always be better coming from the original source. The feel wouldn't be lost. Plus you've done a good job so far, would like to see you continue.

I was half asleep reading this last night and went down a whole rabbits hole of looking into @leofinance. I was so tired I completely forgot until I opened up my laptop just a min ago.
Welp it looks like im about to go down this rabbit hole again! Thank you brother and thanks for the story, I look forward to see if anyone continues it.

I look forward to see if anyone continues it.

I doubt that anyone will do it.

Read all the parts what a gentlemen François Martin is and a generous man at that, there should be more people like him. Wishing him and family all the best of health to live out there wonderful successful fortune.

And i do have a friend from Australia with a similar story of success with Bitcoin who has done similar things.

Good for him.

I hope that if I had had the luck and discipline of François, I would have had a similar behaviour.

Support the HiveBuzz project. Vote for our proposal!

Salut Vincent
