Marketers must shift their thinking from the short head of mainstream marketing to the masses to a strategy of targeting vast numbers of undeserved audiences via the web.
The long tail is our economy in shifting away and moving forward from small number toward the huge number as the cost of production and distribution fall especially online and no need of lump products and consumers into containers.
Mostly all successful internet businesses leverage the long tail in reaching customers satisfy and demand for products that could not be found in and stores. Netflix exploited the long tail demand from retail’s.
Take a look at amazon just at the click of your finger with the internet thousands of book and other different product that are not available at any stores you would get them there, or iTunes some time you can go into any record store to purchase album of and artists of your choice but you cannot find them with the use of iTunes you would be able to listen to any song of you choice.
With the use of modern day technology consumers make use the internet to get answers to their problem but in the good old day where by interruption marketing with mainstreams message, consumers of today are looking the right product to satisfy their unique desires.
