Ooh, I like questions that try to predict the future !
Purely a personal opinion, but I think crypto is going to be a wild ride for the next few years. There's going to be a real tug-of-war between crypto enthusiasts who want to see independence and decentralisation, and legacy finance backed by governments who want to regulate, control and tax it (as well as have access to all the data) and possibly roll it into their CBDC's.
I don't think either side will "win", but we are likely to end up with two very different broad types of crypto.
The "tame" ones will include Bitcoin and Ethereum, where the value of legacy finance investment will overwhelm the individual investors, making them just another investment asset for the big boys to play with. Cryptocurrencies owned by centralised exchanges like Binance, as well as centralised stablecoins like USDT and USDC will be so heavily regulated that they'll just be part of the CBDC system.
But truly decentralised cryptos like HIVE and Monero have the potential to become "underground" success stories, bringing financial freedom to people who otherwise would be trapped in the legacy finance world.
It's going to be fun times !
