The one who created Brave was one of the people who worked on Mozilla?
Why does it use Chromium, though? Did he think it was better than Firefox? Or was he not allowed to use Firefox's code as a base?
Mozilla is also open source, but he needed something widely accepted and integrable with other chrome based browser apps.
Even Microsoft changed IE to EDGE. Need of the time.
Makes sense, I guess...
Chromium has more support due to being the most used browser. Both Firefox and Chromium are open source. By being Chromium based, Brave gets all the extensions + support.
