Hi HODLers, Hiveans and Lions,
Interestingly, Sony, the maker of Playstation detailed the concept of what it calls "Super Fungible Tokens" for games.
It mentions that these would be stored in a decentralized ledger and transferable between players. Sounds familiar? :D
The patent application outlines a process of tracking a set of gaming assets associated with a player on an “electronic device” and generating metadata based on those assets.
This implies that Sony is actually seriously considering NFTs in its games.
Would they launch their own private Blockchain or use an existing one such as Ethereum ImmutableX, Base...?
This is a very important question if you are invested in one of the blockchain that would hold Sony's NFTs but overall, it does not matter much.
What matters is that Sony and other Game Developers are moving on and accepting that the future of gaming is through #web3 ecosystems.
This tide is unstoppable, better jump on the lifeboats!
Stay safe out there,
